I'm back...

We started our transition back South last Monday. We drove over a 1,000 miles in 3 days.
From Illinois to Missouri then on to Louisiana and Mississippi.
It's all a big blur.
Here's a shot somewhere in southern Illinois.

The Final Hoorah - Chicago

This weekend, we visited Chicago for one last time as a family. We still had one thing left on "the list" that we hadn't done yet. - An architectural tour by boat of the Chicago River.

Catfish Blues

Well, we know where we're going AND we know where we've been.

By the end of this summer I shall be blogging to you live from the Mississippi Delta.

- Been there, done that, going back for more!

Memorial Day Recap

The day started out all nice and pretty...

Leisurley walk to the parade route...

Waiting under a tree for the action to start...

Everyone's ready...

Bring it on...

A few sprinkles...

And then the bottom fell out. Thunder, lightening, big down pour.

Rushing to the covered bridge with a gajillion other people...

We had a long trek back to the car. We decided our best bet was to "wait it out" UNDER the bridge. My view watching the band students that weren't so lucky to find a dry spot.

We hung out under the bridge with a nice couple from Utah. Unfortunately, while we were visiting with them, there was a medical emergency going on above us. Someone had callapsed amidst all the chaos and the medics were brought in.

See the dry spot under the bridge...that's where we were.
