Herding Cats

The "VIP Party" is officially over! Can I get an AMEN? We had a total of nine attendants. I was anticipating a low turnout considering my last minute invites, postal mishaps and bad weather. But it is over and all is well in my world. Here's a little recap...

The centerpiece...

The cupcakes...

The chandelier. I like to title this one "Hot Mess". It really looked cuter in person. - Guess you had to be there.

Trinket boxes. Everyone used these boxes to hold all their lute from the surprise balls http://alittlehappy.blogspot.com/2011/01/surprise-balls.html.

Of course, Shrinky Dinks are always a crowd pleaser. They are great for keeping the "cats" focused and contained in one location.

Birthday Bash

So we had a birthday party last weekend.
Eleven third grade (+ two first grade) soccer players.
To sum it up...they swooped in, swirled like a tornado
and left a trail of destruction.
I'm a survivor!!!

I turned this into a fun activity...

Let each child pick a Jelly Belly to eat...

Then play a little "Name that Flavor"!!!

Birthday Party

We had GA's belated 8th Birthday party this weekend.
She requested an intimate gathering with five of her BFFs and an icecream cake.
The Birthday Girl.

The table.

Everyone took turns reading from their fortune cookie.

Fortune: Your happy laughter makes others laugh too. Keep it up.

We made flower pens, bag tags and paper flowers.
But the real hit of the night - the Shrinky Dinks!
