Left Behind
Catherine decided that she was too scared to sleep in her room the other night. She grabbed her pillow and sleeping bag and slept on the floor in our room. When we went in her bedroom to turn out her light, we found this in her bed...

Naper Settlement
Recently, I took a vow for us to take advantage of all the amenities that are located in our "backyard". So often we are never tourists of our own town - and then you move! That being said - a couple of weekends ago, we visited the Naper Settlement (www.napersettlement.com). It's a replica of a 19th Century Village with some original historical buildings. There are people that are dressed to depict the era, reenacting the activities of that time.

Moser Tower/Millenium Carillon
Saturday, the hubby decided that our family should have a fire drill. This activity would require me to climb out a second story window, down a fire ladder with our girls following after me. After realizing that this "practice" would probably damage our house, we opted to save this adventure for the "real deal". I was pretty relieved since I have a fear of heights. It will take a raging fire to get me out that window!
So we decided to check this out instead...it's just a "little" bit worse than a second story window right?
